So after getting permission from Tweeda, me and Reece had a debate over what song to do. We were sticking to our own guns, him saying we should do Limp Bizkit's 'The One' cover and myself suggesting we do Blink 182's Girl At The Rock Show. There were negatives and positives about both, The One being a little bit too slow paced whilst Girl At was awkwardly lyrical and rather up beat.We had this conversation:
That would fit more with a live performance but I'm not sure what sortve narrative would work with that cause it's a fairly happy song so I don't know what narrative we could use with that
Hmm I quite like that idea, so it's like a girl struggling at school, trying to find love, we could have the live performance as a party she goes to or something along those lines
Progressss I would have so they don't really know each other, the guy has his friends and the girl has hers and then at a party it's like love at first sight kinda thing
You could have a few shots of them walking down the streets or something and seeing each other and turning their heads but not actually saying anything
hmmm, not too keen on that idea, like the idea that then they realise they're in the same class or something, yknow when you never notice someone and then you suddenly do because of one little incident?
cause it would make sense of the failing grades
and then she gets kicked out and they dont see eacho ther
i was thinking cross the class room, yknwo when everyone got their results, and the faces they pulled when they did good or not, you could have a round like that, and have her like crunching into the paper, and when i think into what you said, i like the idea that she'd get kicked out of school and theyd notcie each other, but this time from the other side of the street, she could be all hooded and shy and sad and shit but they still don't do anything
I like the school part, but the street I'm a bit skeptical on, not sure how that would look good, I would just have the guy walking on the other side or something and he may glance over whilst she looks shy and upset
i am as well, but we need more locations at the same time
i was thinking mid or close up shots
of like their faces in recognition
not actual streets
So that's really all we got up to yesterday, but it's a start on narrative. We already know the conventions needed in our music video, the generic type of shots sand such, but its just developing a narrative then a storyboard and rough ideas of locations and who we are going to get to act.
